We made a limited number of bamboo racks that were popular for the special exhibition " rrres "Unknown Territory" curated by KIAN " held at HALL in June 2021.

After the dirt has been washed off, the green bamboo is dried in the sun, roasted over a fire to remove the oil, and dried in the sun again to make white bamboo.
In order to dismantle the rack, a hole with the thickness of the horizontal bamboo is dug into the vertical bamboo, and it is finished with a structure that can be inserted without using nails like kumiko.
Bamboo is said to be an "earth-friendly material".
It takes 10 to 20 years or longer for ordinary trees to grow to a size that can be used as lumber, but bamboo grows very quickly and can be harvested in just three years. . And even if the tree is felled, if the roots in the soil are still healthy, it will sprout and spread more and more. Highly regenerative bamboo is a sustainable material that can be harvested repeatedly.
In recent years, bamboo forests have been attracting attention as they produce 35% more oxygen than forests and absorb a lot of carbon dioxide. In addition, it is a natural material with excellent durability and antibacterial properties. I agree that it is said to be environmentally friendly.
And just like leather, bamboo changes color over time, and the texture can be developed by wiping it with water or applying oil. If you take good care of it, you can use it for decades.
This BAMBOO RACK was created with a craftsman for the rrres exhibition, partly because I felt it had something in common with the natural material leather, which I usually use for my Sellenatela shoes. It was well received by those who came to the exhibition, and this time it was produced again in a limited quantity.
Hang your favorite rugs and fabrics and use it as an interior, You can use it as a hanger rack to hang clothes and bags .
