This book was published to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous Italian shoe designer SALVATORE FERRAGAMO. 195 splendid shoes made by genius Ferragamo are posted.
Salvatore Ferragamo (1898-1960, born in Campania, Italy) is a leading Italian shoe designer and shoemaker. It is said that he made his first shoes when he was 9 years old, and opened his own shoe shop at 11 years old. After that, at the age of 15, he went to the United States, studied anatomy at the University of Southern California, and acquired the technique of making shoes that do not hurt his feet. In California, he produced costumes for movies and produced shoes for Hollywood actors, and his shoes were loved by famous actors such as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, and Ferragamo was known as a "star shoemaker". It will become famous at once. In 1927, he returned to Italy and opened a Maison called Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence. Ferragamo invented and produced various styles such as the "invisible shoes" with nylon thread uppers, wedge heels, platform soles and cork heels. He is the one and only shoe designer who had a great influence on subsequent shoe culture.
This book is the same one that my uncle gave me when my sister and I started a shoe brand. Famous shoe designer and shoemaker named Salvatore Ferragamo generously publishes representative works created over a long period of time. Even today, there are so many beautiful and stylish shoes that I am really surprised (the old ones are designed over 100 years ago). This book reminds me that good design does not go out of fashion over time.
In particular, I was strongly influenced by the way Ferragamo used materials and arranged colors. I believe that this book will serve as a textbook for those who aspire to become shoe designers, and will serve as an opportunity to learn about good shoe design. You can see 195 eye-pleasing shoes, so even if you don't aim to be a shoe designer, it's definitely a recommended book for those who like shoes! Is it worth the price for such a wonderful book? smile
The price is easy to pick up, so I would like people who like shoes to welcome them to their homes.
